Post-Treatment Advice After Root Canal Treatment
- Most of the time there is no severe pain after root canal treatment. However flare-ups can occur. Please consume the painkillers when these are prescribed.
- For root canal treatment procedures, local anaesthetics are administered. This will numb part of the tongue, cheeks or lips. The numbness may persist up to 5 hours. Please exercise caution during eating and do not bite or burn these numbed areas.
- For most of root canal treated teeth, crowns to protect the teeth against fracture are required. Before the crowns are placed, patients must be careful not to bite on hard objects and cause fracture of the tooth.
